Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, as an organization, pursues an anti-discrimination and persecution policy. The basic principles of the policy are reflected in the university\u2019s code of ethics. The section \u201cGeneral Rules of Conduct for Team Members\u201d states the following:<\/p>\n
– Solidarity, mutual trust, respect, and care at the university are some of the important features in the interaction of team members.<\/p>\n
– The main principle of interaction at the university is that one person\u2019s rights should not violate the rights of another. Freedom of speech does not give the university administration, faculty, and students, who are members of the community, the right to slander or insult anyone, to demonstrate a disregard for generally accepted rules of conduct in relationships, or to use obscene language in communication.<\/p>\n
– Everyone at the university should be respectful when addressing each other.<\/p>\n
– Members of the university community must treat speakers with respect, peace, and tranquility at various events (meetings, ceremonial meetings, workshops, holidays). If necessary, one speaker may leave the room during a break before he or she can finish his or her speech.<\/p>\n
The section of the book entitled \u201cProfessor-teacher relations\u201d states:<\/p>\n
– In the relationship between professors and teachers – the principles of unity, mutual respect and attention, friendship, solidarity, honesty, and justice.<\/p>\n
– Disrespect for human dignity, humiliation, misappropriation of intellectual property, rudeness, use of obscene language, fights, moral, material, or physical harm to others is strictly prohibited in the relations between professors and teachers.<\/p>\n
– Currently, the university has developed internal regulations and codes of conduct to protect the rights of students and faculty members. At the beginning of the academic year, all 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year undergraduate students and 1st and 2nd-year master’s students sign agreements on internal regulations and ethics. Explanatory work is carried out.<\/p>\n
