Main Tasks of the Center<\/h3>\n

The principal tasks of the Center are as follows:<\/p>\n

Research Activities<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • To conduct academic research on the history and stages of development of Urdu literature in Pakistan and India;<\/li>\n
  • To study the theoretical approaches and scholarly perspectives of specialists in Urdu literary studies and linguistics;<\/li>\n
  • To conduct comprehensive research on the culture, history, literature, economy, politics, and languages of Pakistan and India, with particular attention to strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and India;<\/li>\n
  • To train academic and teaching staff specializing in Urdu and to conduct joint research with local, Pakistani, and Indian partners, including the preparation of research projects, dissertations, monographs, and scholarly articles;<\/li>\n
  • To conduct comparative research on the linguistic situations in Pakistan, India, and Uzbekistan, as well as on the Urdu and Uzbek languages, literatures, and cultures, and to integrate the findings into the educational process, thereby contributing to the international promotion of Urdu and Uzbek languages and cultures;<\/li>\n
  • To study current developments in Urdu studies and analyse the activities of leading universities and research centers in Pakistan and India, using the findings to develop recommendations for updating undergraduate and graduate curricula in language, literature, history, economics, and political science;<\/li>\n
  • To translate and publish works on the culture, history, literature, economy, politics, and Urdu-language heritage of Pakistan and India into Uzbek and, conversely, works relating to the culture, history, literature, economy, and politics of Uzbekistan into Urdu, thereby promoting the national values and cultural heritage of these countries internationally;<\/li>\n
  • To organize academic conferences, seminars, and round-table discussions at various levels in cooperation with partner universities, research centers, and international organizations in Pakistan and India on the current state, development, and future prospects of Urdu studies;<\/li>\n
  • To enhance the professional and academic competence of faculty members and researchers through academic seminars, round-table discussions, and conferences;<\/li>\n
  • To regularly disseminate information on the Center\u2019s activities and research findings through international academic publications, particularly journals indexed in Scopus<\/strong> and Web of Science<\/strong>, as well as national and University publications;<\/li>\n
  • To organize courses on \u201cFundamentals of Academic Writing\u201d<\/strong> for faculty members, doctoral researchers, and independent researchers engaged in academic research in Uzbekistan;<\/li>\n
  • To engage leading scholars in Urdu studies from Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and India in the academic and research activities of the Center;<\/li>\n
  • To contribute to the training of a new generation of specialists in Urdu studies capable of conducting research and analysis on the culture, history, literature, economy, politics, and Urdu-language heritage of Pakistan and India;<\/li>\n
  • To develop start-up and innovative projects jointly with talented undergraduate and graduate students and doctoral researchers, and to organize academic seminars and project presentations in cooperation with leading universities and research centers in Pakistan and India;<\/li>\n
  • To monitor and facilitate the timely implementation of research projects conducted at the University in the field of Urdu studies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Academic and Educational Activities<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • To prepare educational and methodological literature for undergraduate and graduate programmes on the Urdu language and literature and their stages of development, including teaching manuals, textbooks, study guides, and anthologies, and to discuss and recommend these materials for publication through the Center;<\/li>\n
    • To expand and improve the use of international academic literature in the preparation of educational materials;<\/li>\n
    • To involve international specialists in the preparation and development of teaching and learning materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Organizational Activities<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • To organize online and in-person academic seminars, round-table discussions, meetings, and international and national scientific and practical conferences with the participation of Pakistani and Indian specialists based in Tashkent, thereby contributing to the professional development of faculty members and young researchers;<\/li>\n
      • To translate selected works of contemporary Urdu literature into Uzbek and outstanding works of Uzbek literature into Urdu in cooperation with the University\u2019s Urdu language specialists, and to facilitate their publication;<\/li>\n
      • To organize academic conferences for undergraduate and graduate students specializing in Urdu linguistics and literary studies and to publish selected student papers in scholarly collections;<\/li>\n
      • To facilitate the approval and discussion of research topics of doctoral candidates, PhD candidates, independent researchers, and other researchers specializing in 10.00.05 \u2013 Languages and Literatures of the Peoples of Asia and Africa<\/strong> and 10.00.06 \u2013 Comparative Literary Studies, Contrastive Linguistics and Translation Studies<\/strong>, including chapter-by-chapter discussion of dissertations and academic preparation for their defence;<\/li>\n
      • To regularly publish information on the Center\u2019s activities and research achievements in national and University publications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Functions of the Center<\/h3>\n

        In accordance with its assigned tasks, the Center performs the following functions:<\/p>\n

          \n
        • Organizes seminars, round-table discussions, conferences, and other academic events on current issues in Urdu studies;<\/li>\n
        • Prepares analytical articles and research reports based on the approved plans of the University and the Center in order to disseminate research findings to the academic community and the wider public;<\/li>\n
        • Participates in the development of academic courses and educational materials in cooperation with specialists from Pakistan and India;<\/li>\n
        • Participates in other research and analytical projects consistent with the aims and objectives of the University;<\/li>\n
        • Engages University faculty members, undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, representatives of government bodies, analytical centers and research institutions, as well as international scholars and specialists, in the activities of the Center;<\/li>\n
        • Coordinates, in cooperation with relevant academic departments, undergraduate theses, master\u2019s and doctoral dissertations, research projects, and analytical studies relating to the culture, history, literature, economy, politics, and Urdu-language heritage of Pakistan and India;<\/li>\n
        • Studies international best practices in research on the culture, history, literature, economy, politics, and Urdu-language heritage of Pakistan and India and develops proposals for their application in academic research;<\/li>\n
        • Conducts comprehensive research on Pakistan and India and, through its academic activities, contributes to the further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and India<\/strong>;<\/li>\n
        • Prepares scholarly and analytical materials on various fields and current issues of Urdu studies<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
