RELATIONSHIPS WITH REGIONAL NGOS AND GOVERNMENT FOR SDG POLICY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS) maintains active cooperation with regional government bodies, ministries, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to support the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) policies in Uzbekistan and Central Asia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This cooperation is aimed at aligning the university\u2019s academic, research, and social initiatives with national and regional SDG priorities, particularly in the areas of quality education (SDG 4), gender equality (SDG 5), sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11), and partnerships for the goals (SDG 17).<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Institutional Policy and Framework<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The University has established an institutional framework that encourages joint engagement with policymakers and NGOs in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>identifying key regional challenges related to SDG implementation;<\/li>\n<li>developing strategic policy recommendations;<\/li>\n<li>conducting impact assessments and modelling future development scenarios;<\/li>\n<li>monitoring and reporting on SDG-related projects and reforms;<\/li>\n<li>facilitating adaptive management through evidence-based analysis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The university\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/tsuos.uz\/en\/english-sdg-center-established-at-tsuos\/\"><strong>SDG<\/strong> <strong>Center<\/strong><\/a> and all <a href=\"https:\/\/tsuos.uz\/en\/fakultetlar-va-kafedralar\/\">institutes, faculties<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/tsuos.uz\/en\/markazlar-bolimlar-va-kengashlar\/\">other institutional bodies<\/a> serve as primary coordination units for these activities, ensuring regular communication with partner institutions and agencies.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, to help students from 19 community schools improve their language skills, cultural awareness, and academic motivation, TSUOS professors and teachers regularly host seminars, open lessons, and educational workshops. Campus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cooperation with Governmental Structures<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>TSUOS collaborates with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the <a href=\"https:\/\/tsuos.uz\/en\/vazirlik\/\"><strong>Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan<\/strong><\/a> on integrating sustainability competencies into curricula and teacher training programs;<\/li>\n<li>the <a href=\"https:\/\/tsuos.uz\/en\/tdshuda-ozbekistonda-faol-va-sport-turizmi-holati-muammolari-istiqbollari-mavzusida-davra-suhbati-bolib-otdi\/\"><strong>Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change<\/strong><\/a> on awareness campaigns and educational materials related to environmental sustainability;<\/li>\n<li>the <a href=\"https:\/\/tsuos.uz\/en\/bitiruvchi-talabalar-uchun-bandlikka-komaklashishga-qaratilgan-uchrashuv-va-bosh-ish-orinlari-yarmarkasi\/\"><strong>Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction<\/strong><\/a> and other agencies on promoting inclusive policies and gender balance in education and work;<\/li>\n<li>the<strong> Cycling Federation of Uzbekistan <\/strong>on organizing sports events, competitions, and promote a healthy lifestyle among youth;<\/li>\n<li>the <a href=\"https:\/\/tsuos.uz\/en\/tdshuga-o%ca%bbzbekiston-respublikasi-tashqi-iqtisodiy-faoliyat-milliy-banki-aksiyadorlik-jamiyati-ortasida-hamkorlik-memorandumi-imzolandi\/\"><strong>National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan<\/strong><\/a> on the establishment of innovative corporate cooperation based on the implementation of innovative cooperation of education, science, training of qualified personnel for the banking system and improving their qualifications, bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees, issues of organizing internships for students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Through participation in national working groups and roundtable discussions, TSUOS provides analytical and academic input for <strong>policy development, monitoring mechanisms, and SDG implementation roadmaps.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Besides, TSUOS cooperates with a lot of <a href=\"https:\/\/tsuos.uz\/en\/universitet\/karyera-markazi\/\">governmental structures<\/a> in terms of students\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/tsuos.uz\/en\/hamkor-tashkilotlar\/\">employment after graduation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Partnership with Regional NGOs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The University works closely with local and regional NGOs that focus on sustainability, education, and social inclusion.<\/p>\n<p>Joint initiatives include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>co-organizing public lectures, conferences, and workshops on SDG awareness;<\/li>\n<li>developing recommendations on strengthening sustainability literacy among students and educators;<\/li>\n<li>contributing research data and expertise to NGO-led projects related to community development and gender equality;<\/li>\n<li>participating in joint monitoring of SDG-related programs at regional level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monitoring, Reporting, and Adaptive Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>TSUOS maintains a system for continuous monitoring and evaluation of its contribution to SDG policies.<\/p>\n<p>This includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>tracking university-level initiatives aligned with SDG targets;<\/li>\n<li>sharing progress reports with national and regional authorities;<\/li>\n<li>adjusting programs and academic content based on evaluation results and stakeholder feedback.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The university\u2019s participation in these processes ensures that academic research, education, and community outreach remain closely tied to the evolving SDG policy environment in Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In order to address existing challenges in Uzbekistan, a number of specialized <a href=\"https:\/\/tsuos.uz\/en\/ilmiy-tadqiqot-markazlari\/\">centers<\/a> have been established at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS), which develop and provide recommendations aimed at the effective implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tsuos.uz\/gender-tadqiqotlari-ilmiy-tadqiqot-markazi\/\">Scientific Research Center for Gender Studies<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tsuos.uz\/global-tadqiqotlar-global-research-ilmiy-tadqiqot-markazi\/\">Global Research Center<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tsuos.uz\/psixologik-xizmat-korsatish-markazi\/\">Psychological Service Center<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tsuos.uz\/en\/toshkent-davlat-sharqshunoslik-universiteti-huzuridagi-sharq-mamlakatlarining-rivojlanishini-tadqiq-etish-ilmiy-tahlil-markazi\/\">Scientific and Analytical Center for Eastern Development Studies at TSUOS<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tsuos.uz\/en\/tdshu-hamda-yaponiyaning-tsukuba-universiteti-markaziy-osiyo-ilmiy-tadqiqot-markazi\/\">Scientific Research Center for Central Asian Studies<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Sirojiddin Makhatov, Head of the Student Internship and Career Center, and PhD Mamurakhan Asrorkhojaeva from Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies actively participated in the training. On October 23, the rector of TSUOS, Gulchehra Rikhsieva, participated in a <a href=\"https:\/\/tsuos.uz\/en\/english-international-cooperation-for-sustainable-development\/\">seminar<\/a> organized for the project members by the British Council and the UK-based organization \u201cAdvance HE\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>On May 16, 2025, at the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/tsuos.uz\/en\/tdshu-buyuk-britaniya-universitetlari-bilan-inkluziv-talim-boyicha-xalqaro-loyihada-qatnashadi\/\">Uzbekistan\u2013United Kingdom Education Forum<\/a>\u201d, TSUOS Rector delivered a speech during the key session titled \u201cInclusive Higher Education,\u201d where she presented ongoing reforms in the field of inclusive education in Uzbekistan and highlighted the strategies implemented at TSUOS to enhance inclusivity through international collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Through sustained partnerships with regional NGOs and government agencies, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies actively contributes to shaping, monitoring, and improving SDG-oriented policies and practices \u2014 reinforcing its role as a national hub for sustainable development education and collaboration.<\/p>\n<p><a data-lightbox=\"post-image\" data-title=\"17.2.1.
