17.2.2. CROSS SECTORAL DIALOGUE ABOUT SDGS<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

TSUOS is firmly committed to advancing the United Nations\u2019 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through engaging and facilitating cross-sectoral dialogue. Recognising that impactful progress requires cooperation across academia, government, civil society, and the private sector, TSUOS organises and participates in conferences, forums and roundtables both regionally and globally.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The conferences below illustrate TSUOS\u2019s active engagement in dialogues not only regionally but also globally, involving government bodies, NGOs, academic institutions and international partners:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \u201cSustainable Development: Inclusive Education and Women\u2019s Initiatives\u201d \u2013 5th International Forum<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Date:<\/em> Held on 15 February 2025, in honour of the \u201cInternational Day of Women & Girls in Science\u201d (11 February). Agenda<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    Purpose:<\/em> To discuss issues of women\u2019s participation in science, the development of inclusive education systems, and strengthening international cooperation on gender equality.<\/p>\n

    Partners:<\/em> Jointly organised with the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Republican Commission on Women, Family and Gender, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science & Innovations, the Youth Affairs Agency, the British Council in Uzbekistan, the Confucius Institute at TSUOS, among others.<\/p>\n

    Key focus:<\/em> Highlighted inclusive education, gender equality (SDG 5) and \u201cno one left behind\u201d in science and education.<\/p>\n

    1. \u201cConfucius Institutes Forum\u201d<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Date: <\/em>27 September 2024 in Beijing at the Beijing University of Foreign Languages and Culture, marking the 20th anniversary of the Confucius Institutes.<\/p>\n

      TSUOS involvement:<\/em> Professor Saodat Nasirova (TSUOS \/ Director of the Confucius Institute in Uzbekistan) was honoured for 10 years of service; TSUOS Rector Professor Gulchehra Rikhsieva\u2019s congratulatory speech was presented.<\/p>\n

      Significance: <\/em>Serves as a platform for strengthening global cooperation in education and cultural exchange (particularly China-Uzbekistan) through Confucius Institutes.<\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

        \n
      1. \u201cAsian Women\u2019s Forum\u201d<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Date:<\/em> 13 May 2024 (in Samarkand) under the theme \u201cExpanding women\u2019s economic, social and political rights and opportunities: a regional approach\u201d.<\/p>\n

        Purpose:<\/em> To foster regional experience-sharing, best practices and strategic approaches towards gender equality (SDG 5) among Asian countries.<\/p>\n

        TSUOS Role:<\/em> TSUOS Rector moderated, and faculty contributed through presentations on gender and development issues.<\/p>\n

         <\/p>\n

        1. \u201cIII Uzbekistan\u2013Turkiye Education Forum\u201d<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Date:<\/em> 27-28 September 2024 in Turkiye (Istanbul Technical University).<\/p>\n

          TSUOS Role:<\/em> The Rector of TSUOS took part in the event.<\/p>\n

          Significance:<\/em> Reflects TSUOS\u2019s active engagement in bi-lateral higher education cooperation (Uzbekistan\u2013Turkiye) and emphasises international cross-sector dialogue on education.<\/p>\n

           <\/p>\n

          1. \u201c7th International Forum on Humanitarian Exchange & Cooperation between Central Asia and China\u201d<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            TSUOS participated in this forum, which focuses on humanitarian exchange and cooperation between Central Asia and China.<\/p>\n

            Significance:<\/em> Emphasises not only regional (Central Asia) but also trans-regional collaboration (with China) in academic and humanitarian domains.<\/p>\n

            1. \u201cCareer Day and Job Fair at TSUOS\u201d<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Date:<\/em> 2024<\/p>\n

              Purpose:<\/em> To connect students with employers and create opportunities for internships and jobs.<\/p>\n

              Partners:<\/em> Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, private companies, embassies, and government agencies.<\/p>\n

              Key Focus:<\/em> Supporting youth employment and decent work opportunities<\/p>\n

              1. \u201cEnsuring Youth Employment and Preparing for the Global Labor Market\u201d<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                Date:<\/em> 2024<\/p>\n

                Purpose:<\/em> To enhance youth employability and global career readiness through cooperation with embassies, international organizations, and government institutions.<\/p>\n

                Significance: <\/em>Demonstrates TSUOS\u2019s active collaboration with government ministries and foreign embassies to achieve SDG 8 \u2013 Decent Work and Economic Growth.<\/p>\n
