16.2.2. STUDENTS\u2019 UNION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS) formally recognises the Youth Union<\/strong><\/a> as the university\u2019s official and independent students\u2019 self-governance body. The Youth Union operates by students and for students<\/em>, serving as a central platform that assists, supports, and engages students in academic, cultural, and social life at the university.<\/p>\n

A clear example of its recognised role in university governance is that the Leader of the Youth Union serves as the 33rd member of the University Academic Council<\/strong>, participating directly in high-level decision-making and ensuring that the student voice is heard at the university\u2019s highest governing body.

    Its main mission is to protect students\u2019 rights and interests, promote student welfare, and ensure student representation in all communications with internal and external stakeholders, including the university administration, governmental institutions, and community organisations. The Union also plays an essential role in nurturing student leadership, civic engagement, and social responsibility.<\/p>\n

    The Youth Union\u2019s executive members are elected annually by the student body, serving a one-year term. Through this democratic process, students elect their representatives to lead initiatives, advocate for their peers, and coordinate university-wide activities.<\/p>\n
