Main Tasks of the Center<\/strong><\/p>\nThe principal tasks of the Center are as follows:<\/p>\n
\n- To conduct comprehensive research on the culture, history, literature, economy, and politics of Iran and Afghanistan, as well as the Persian, Dari, and Pashto languages, with particular attention to the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan;<\/li>\n
- To train academic and teaching staff in Iranian studies and conduct joint research with local and Iranian partners, including the preparation of research projects, dissertations, monographs, and scholarly articles;<\/li>\n
- To study the linguistic situation of Iranian-speaking communities in the Middle East and Central Asia, conduct comparative research on Persian, Dari, Pashto, and Uzbek, and integrate research findings into the educational process;<\/li>\n
- To analyse the activities and academic experience of leading international centers of Iranian studies, universities, and research institutions in the Islamic Republic of Iran and, on this basis, develop recommendations for updating undergraduate and graduate curricula in language, literature, history, economics, and political science;<\/li>\n
- To translate and publish works on the culture, history, literature, economy, and politics of Iranian-speaking peoples of the Middle East and Central Asia into Uzbek, and, conversely, translate works on Uzbekistan\u2019s culture, history, literature, economy, and politics into Persian, Dari, and Pashto, thereby promoting the cultural heritage and values of the respective countries;<\/li>\n
- To organize academic conferences, seminars, and round-table discussions at various levels in cooperation with international partner universities and research centers on the development, current state, and prospects of Iranian and Afghan studies;<\/li>\n
- To enhance the professional and academic competence of faculty members and researchers through academic seminars, webinars, round-table discussions, and conferences;<\/li>\n
- To publish the academic journal of the Higher School of Iranian and Afghan Studies<\/strong> in order to regularly disseminate the Center\u2019s research findings, and to publish information on its activities and scholarly achievements in academic publications in Uzbekistan, Iran, and Afghanistan;<\/li>\n
- To organize courses on \u201cFundamentals of Academic Writing\u201d<\/strong> for faculty members, doctoral researchers, and independent researchers engaged in scholarly work in Uzbekistan;<\/li>\n
- To involve leading scholars from Iranian studies centers in Uzbekistan and abroad, as well as specialists from Iran and Afghanistan, in the Center\u2019s research activities;<\/li>\n
- To contribute to the training of a new generation of Oriental studies specialists capable of conducting research on the culture, history, literature, economy, politics, and languages of Iran and Afghanistan;<\/li>\n
- To develop start-up and innovative projects jointly with talented undergraduate and graduate students and doctoral researchers, and to organize academic seminars and project presentations in cooperation with international centers of Iranian studies and leading universities and research institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran;<\/li>\n
- To monitor and facilitate the timely implementation of research conducted at the University in the fields of Iranian and Afghan studies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Functions of the Center<\/strong><\/p>\nIn accordance with its assigned tasks, the Center performs the following functions:<\/p>\n
\n- Conducts research in accordance with the University\u2019s research priorities and the approved work plan of the Center;<\/li>\n
- Organizes seminars, round-table discussions, conferences, and other academic events on current issues in Iranian and Afghan studies;<\/li>\n
- Prepares analytical articles and research reports based on the approved plans of the University and the Center in order to disseminate research findings to the academic community and the wider public;<\/li>\n
- Participates in the development of academic courses and educational materials in cooperation with international specialists;<\/li>\n
- Participates in other research and analytical projects consistent with the aims and objectives of the University;<\/li>\n
- Engages University faculty members, undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, representatives of government bodies, analytical centers and research institutions, as well as international scholars and specialists, in the activities of the Center;<\/li>\n
- Coordinates, in cooperation with relevant academic departments, undergraduate theses, master\u2019s and doctoral dissertations, research projects, and analytical studies relating to the culture, history, literature, economy, politics, and languages of Iran and Afghanistan;<\/li>\n
- Studies international best practices in research on Iranian-speaking cultures and peoples of the Middle East and Central Asia\u2014including their history, literature, economy, politics, and languages\u2014and develops proposals for their application in academic research;<\/li>\n
- Conducts research on Iranian-speaking cultures and peoples of the Middle East and Central Asia, contributing through academic cooperation to the further development of relations between Uzbekistan and Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan;<\/li>\n
- Prepares scholarly and analytical materials on various fields and current issues of Iranian and Afghan studies<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
