And today I would like to share with the opinion of Australian scientists that all the proposed “… possible strategies for exiting the self-isolation and quarantine regime” are defined as ineffective (The Conversation magazine, Australia). Australian scientists identified four options for these strategies, each of which has its own advantages and disadvantages. And, believe me, they have one thing in common – all these scenarios of “escaping from the trap of strict isolation” are very risky, moreover, they negatively affect not only ourselves, but also our loved ones. Therefore, in conditions of self-isolation, we need to learn how to work more efficiently remotely, using all possible means of communication, modern technology, etc.

Few people thought about how to work on … a home phone. Having resorted to the possibilities of the social networks of the Internet, trendy computer programs, we often do not think about the fact that there are students and teachers who are not only unavailable to “information technologies”, but it is also difficult to understand these technologies, modern models of cell phones. And then a simple landline (home) telephone can come to our aid. Undoubtedly, such a way of working would help those students and teachers who are “Offline”. Our recent experience of “dialing” to each student has shown that this way of working is quite effective. The essence of this method was to get through to the students who turned out to be “Offline” by landline, briefly explain the current topic and give recommendations on how to do independent work. And only then, students called the teacher at a predetermined time and answered homework questions. It’s true that this method is difficult to implement when fifty or more students are present at the lectures, but you must admit that there are not so many students who have the “wrong phones”, and to convey knowledge to them in such a simple and reliable way is already good .

Now is not the time to discuss what is effective and what is not; now it is important to convey knowledge to each student and, being in isolation during the quarantine period, help students not to be “isolated in isolation” just because the Internet was not available -connection. Therefore, I wish all my colleagues – teachers of TSIOS and teachers of our large, multinational country great patience, health and many creative ideas.

Natalya Dec-kenovna Kim

Doctor of Philology, Acting Professor

Department of Korean Philology, TSIOS

A review of information articles on the Internet helps to gain knowledge that in the recent past seemed completely unnecessary.
