On October 11 of this year, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies rector Gulchehra Rikhsiyeva participated in the \u201cUlugbek\u201d Foundation for Supporting Talented Youth with a lecture on the topic \u201cThe Electoral Transformation of Uzbekistan.\u201d<\/p>\n

In her speech, the rector emphasized for the first time in Uzbekistan\u2019s history, a mixed electoral system is being introduced, where deputies will be elected partially directly and partially through party lists. She also discussed how the digitization of the election process and the implementation of the \u201cE-Election\u201d system are increasing transparency. The lecture noted that, according to the new legislation, candidates from political parties must consist of at least 40% women.<\/p>\n
