On October 10, 2025, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Writers\u2019 Union of Uzbekistan, hosted an international scientific-practical conference titled \u201cUzbek-Azerbaijani Literary Relations and Prospects for Cooperation.\u201d The aim of this prestigious academic event was to elevate Uzbek-Azerbaijani literary and cultural relations to a new stage of development.<\/p>\n

The conference sought to analyze the deep historical, cultural, and linguistic ties between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, discuss current developments in literature, art, translation, media, and cultural exchange, and outline future directions for collaboration.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The interdisciplinary nature of the conference opened new opportunities for scholarly research. Language, literature, folklore, ethnography, art, cultural studies, and modern analytical technologies enabled participants to explore the past and present through an inter-scientific dialogue. Such discussions generate new ideas for literary and cultural cooperation, strengthen academic partnerships, and build bridges between cultures.<\/p>\n

The conference was attended by Professor Gulchehra Rikhsiyeva, Rector of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies; Minhojiddin Mirzo, Deputy Chairman of the Writers\u2019 Union of Uzbekistan; Bekzod Shukurov, Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Relations with Compatriots Abroad; Erkin Nuriddinov, Chairman of the Uzbekistan\u2013Azerbaijan Friendship Society; as well as leading scholars and representatives of prestigious scientific centers from Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n

The program included sessions on the following main topics:
\n\u2022 Historical roots and current state of Uzbek-Azerbaijani literary relations
\n\u2022 Development of Uzbek and Azerbaijani languages, and common features in oral traditions and folklore
\n\u2022 The role of art, ethnography, and philosophical heritage in cultural and literary cooperation
\n\u2022 Uzbek-Azerbaijani translation studies: theoretical perspectives and practical experience<\/p>\n

During the event, academic reports were presented on the history of Uzbek-Azerbaijani literary and cultural relations, the evolution and current state of bilateral cooperation, translation challenges and solutions in Uzbek and Azerbaijani languages, and the shared features of Turkic languages and cultures.<\/p>\n

The conference was held in a hybrid format: participants attended either in person at the university\u2019s conference hall or virtually via the Zoom platform.<\/p>\n
