On 28 July 2026<\/strong>, an online meeting was held between representatives of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies<\/strong> and Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Malaysia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The meeting brought together representatives of the Department of Tourism of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and representatives of Tourism Management, Tourism and Hospitality<\/strong> at Universiti Malaysia Sabah. During the meeting, the participants discussed in detail ways to advance international cooperation between the two higher education institutions to a new level in the fields of education, research and tourism.<\/p>\n The discussions focused on establishing academic exchange programmes for faculty members and students, organising joint lectures, seminars, webinars and masterclasses, as well as developing joint educational programmes in tourism and hospitality based on contemporary international practices.<\/p>\n One of the key areas discussed during the meeting was the possibility of inviting professors and academic staff from Universiti Malaysia Sabah<\/strong>, who have extensive academic and teaching experience in tourism and hospitality, to Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies as Visiting Professors<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Under this initiative, visiting professors are expected to deliver lectures, practical sessions, research seminars and masterclasses for students, provide academic guidance to young researchers, and participate in joint research projects and co-authored publications in international academic journals.<\/p>\n The parties also identified specific areas for joint research in priority fields of the contemporary global tourism industry, including sustainable tourism, ecotourism, ethnographic tourism, gastronomic tourism, digital tourism and MICE tourism<\/strong>. The participants also discussed opportunities for co-authoring research articles in international journals and organising international conferences, webinars and roundtable discussions.<\/p>\n In addition, with the aim of developing students\u2019 international competencies, the participants discussed opportunities to organise internships for students at leading tourism and hospitality companies in Malaysia, launch \u201c2+2\u201d, \u201c3+1\u201d and Double Degree programmes<\/strong>, and implement joint projects aimed at promoting the rich tourism potential of Uzbekistan and Malaysia internationally.<\/p>\n The meeting was held in an open and constructive atmosphere. The parties emphasised that such cooperation would contribute to further improving the quality of education, strengthening research capacity and enhancing the international standing of both universities.<\/p>\n At the conclusion of the meeting, representatives of the leadership of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies<\/strong> and Universiti Malaysia Sabah<\/strong> expressed their readiness to continue close cooperation aimed at consistently developing mutually beneficial partnerships, implementing joint educational and research projects, expanding academic mobility programmes, and bringing international cooperation in tourism to a new level.<\/p>\n <\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" On 28 July 2026, an online meeting was held between representatives of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Malaysia.
