On October 7, 2026, Dr. Gisela Zimmermann, Director of the DAAD Regional Office for Central Asia, and Kanybek Sydykbekov, DAAD Representative for Uzbekistan at the DAAD Regional Office for Central Asia, visited Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the meeting, a presentation on cooperation between TSUOS and DAAD was delivered. The presentation highlighted the university\u2019s international cooperation activities, existing opportunities, and promising areas for further collaboration with DAAD.<\/p>\n

During the visit, the parties held a detailed discussion on prospects for strengthening cooperation with DAAD. The visit continued the agreements reached during an online meeting held in July this year.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Particular attention during the discussions was paid to establishing partnerships with leading higher education institutions in Germany and expanding cooperation in the field of research projects through DAAD. In particular, the parties explored opportunities to invite German specialists for short-term engagements in the fields of simultaneous interpreting, history, and economics, as well as to launch joint research projects.<\/p>\n

The meeting also included an exchange of views on DAAD grant and scholarship programmes for faculty members, doctoral students, and young researchers, as well as academic mobility, doctoral studies, and joint research initiatives.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue their cooperation consistently, establish practical partnerships with leading German universities in the fields of simultaneous interpreting, history, and economics, and jointly develop concrete project proposals.<\/p>\n
