Education and Innovation as Tools for Poverty Reduction

On March 19, 2024, the Department for Organizing the Scientific and Research Activities of Talented Students at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS) held a promotional meeting on “Engaging Students in Scientific Activities” for students of the Faculty of Eastern Countries, Economics, Politics, and Tourism.

At the meeting, the head of the department, Laziz Turaev, provided information about opportunities for student involvement in scientific activities, the Presidential Scholarship of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Ogahiy, Suyima Ganieva, and Rector’s scholarships. Additionally, he discussed various conferences, competitions, and “START UP” projects, highlighting how these initiatives can contribute to economic self-sufficiency and career growth.

Furthermore, the faculty’s deputy dean O. Mardaev, and Kh. Mustapova, presented detailed information about student clubs, which provide networking, mentorship, and skill development opportunities to help students advance in their academic and professional journeys.

By providing students with scholarships, research opportunities, and startup support, the university ensures that talented individuals from all backgrounds—especially those from low-income families—can access quality education and develop financial independence.
