Provide students access to sexual and reproductive health-care services including information and education service
According to Article 5 of Law “On Protection of Reproductive Health of Citizens” adopted by the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan on February 15, 2019, a sexual and reproductive health service center was established at TSUOS in order to make using health care services more convenient for students. Information about sexual and reproductive changes of students according to age categories are explained, and necessary information and measures are taken. In this center, all students, young people and staff can get reliable and complete information about their reproductive health, use medical and preventive services, and get medical advice and services concerning reproductive health issues. In addition, it is planned to organize and carry out medical-prophylactic measures, including the pathology of reproductive organs, as well as medical-prophylactic measures aimed at identifying genetic diseases, sexual education and preparing them for family life, to protect the reproductive health of minors which includes educating and informing them about reproductive health issues. Also, within the framework of SDG, in order to protect and support university professors and students in every way, the “Mother and Child” center was established at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, where all conditions are created, both students and staff can attend classes and carry out their activities by leaving their children to special babysitters. Such amenities ensure that students can continue their studies without any difficulties and that the staff can run smoothly and efficiently.
The “Health Center” was established within Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies in order to maintain and ensure the health of students and staff of the university. The center carries out the following activities:
– In order to ensure the well-being of the population, develop a plan of measures and implement it throughout the year;
– Medical examination of students admitted to the university during the month of September;
– Preparation of reports on the results of the medical examination and presentation to the management;
– Working with the applications of students and professors who apply for medical advice on a daily basis;
– Preparation of applications for medical drugs according to the requirements of students and professors;
– Implementation of medical and sanitary preventive works throughout the university;
– Regularly improving the qualifications of the medical staff of the center;
– Providing medical assistance to all staff who apply for 1st medical assistance;
– Preparing a list of various diseases among students and professors and taking appropriate measures;
– Organization of special medical examinations for students and teachers with disabilities and chronic diseases;
– Active participation in medical events organized in general across the republic.
