Global Partnerships Through the Eyes of Youth

An open class on the topic of SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals, one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, was conducted by Nozima Odilova, English language instructor at the Department of Western Languages, for first-year students of the Japanese–English group, Faculty of Japanese Philology, at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.

In addition, Senior English Language Lecturer Sohiba Sapaeva conducted an open class with first-year students of the Tourism department (Turkish-English group) dedicated to SDG 15 “Life on Land” and SDG 16 “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions” within the framework of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

During the lessons, students engaged in in-depth analytical discussions on international cooperation between countries, the role of global organizations, mechanisms of financial and technical support, and the importance of fostering partnerships in fields such as education, healthcare, climate action, and digital transformation.

Held in an interactive format, the students were divided into teams and presented various international cooperation models that contribute to sustainable development. They also highlighted Uzbekistan’s current initiatives under SDGs and emphasized the significance of youth participation in such collaborations.
