A new phase of cooperation between the Rishton district and Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies to enhance tourism potential
On May 21, Bahodir Rahmatullayevich Khaliqov, the head of the Rishton district, met with the tourism working group from Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, who visited the district. During the meeting, issues related to the implementation of the plan to enhance the tourism potential of the Rishton district, aligned with the Presidential Decrees of the Republic of Uzbekistan from April 26, 2023 (PQ-135) and July 18, 2024 (PQ-269), were discussed.
The discussions covered gathering historical, cultural, and scientifically-based data on the tourism objects in Rishton, organizing short-term courses and seminars for hotel and service industry specialists, introducing modern tourism services, creating tourism packages based on new tourist routes in ethnotourism and their unique features.
The sides exchanged views on a number of priority directions to be implemented within the framework of the plan for 2025. Special attention was given to the following issues:
• Analyzing historical and cultural objects of Rishton (particularly ancient pottery centers and pilgrimage sites) and adapting them to modern tourism trends;
• Enhancing the tourism potential of the local population, promoting handicrafts, and developing agrotourism and ecotourism;
• Initiatives for promoting tourism marketing and branding — Rishton district brand, advertising products, and strengthening promotional work on digital platforms;
• Utilizing the scientific and practical research of the university — scientifically assessing the tourism potential of the district, developing new tourism directions;
• Opportunities for internships and practice — university students doing internships in tourism in Rishton, which integrates theory and practice.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to systematically organize this cooperation throughout 2025 and ensure the implementation of each point of the plan. This will serve to enhance the tourism potential of the Rishton district.
