Tourism Cooperation Between Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and Yangikurgan District Enters a New Stage

On September 22, 2025, a meeting was held between Chori Qodirovich Husanov, Head of the Department of Tourism at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, and Esonbek Kholmirzayevich Mehmanov, Deputy Hokim of Yangikurgan District for Youth Policy, Social Development, and Spiritual-Educational Affairs. During the meeting, both parties reached an agreement on mutual cooperation aimed at enhancing the district’s tourism potential and developing modern tourism-related skills among local students and youth.

Throughout the discussion, the parties exchanged views on opportunities in the tourism sector, existing infrastructure, historical and cultural heritage sites, and ways to increase employment for the local population. It was emphasized that the district’s rich historical and cultural heritage, natural attractions, and traditional crafts should be actively promoted within the tourism sector.

Representatives from the Department of Tourism proposed the following initiatives for tourism development in the district:

  • Organizing internships and practical training for university students in Yangikurgan District;
  • Training local tour guides and involving them in professional development courses;
  • Conducting educational seminars, training sessions, and masterclasses for school students and local youth on modern tourism approaches;
  • Holding awareness-raising events in district schools and colleges related to tourism;
  • Developing a tourism map of Yangikurgan District and preparing informational materials.

The parties agreed to begin implementing joint projects, programs, and initiatives in the near future. This cooperation is expected to foster greater youth engagement in the tourism sector, improve their knowledge and practical skills, and contribute to the creation of new employment opportunities in the region.

This meeting marked an important step in strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation and is set to make a meaningful contribution to the large-scale reforms aimed at increasing Uzbekistan’s domestic and international tourism potential.
