DOCTORAL, BASIC DOCTORAL AND INDEPENDENT RESEARCH PROGRAMS AT TASHKENT STATE UNIVERSITY OF ORIENTAL STUDIES

According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 304 dated May 22, 2017, “On Measures to Further Improve the Postgraduate Education System,” and the “Regulations on Postgraduate Education” approved by this Resolution, the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS) trains highly qualified scientific personnel through doctoral, basic doctoral, and independent research programs in the following fields.

MAIN REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION TO DOCTORAL, BASIC DOCTORAL, AND INDEPENDENT RESEARCH PROGRAMS AT TSUOS

Admission is carried out through the daraja.ilmiy.uz platform.
Applicants must hold a master’s degree, a clinical residency diploma (for medical sciences), or a higher education diploma obtained before 1997, as well as a Candidate of Sciences (PhD) degree or an equivalent foreign scientific degree. The applicant’s specialty must correspond to the field of study of the postgraduate program. If the fields differ, applicants must pass additional examinations in subjects determined by the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Requirements for Basic Doctoral Applicants:

  • Master’s degree or a higher education diploma obtained before the introduction of the master’s degree;
  • At least one scientific article published in a journal and two theses published in conference or seminar proceedings relevant to the research area.

Documents Required for Doctoral Admission:

  1. Short biographical information;
  2. Certified copy of the employment record (for employed applicants);
  3. Copy of the diploma of higher education or scientific degree;
  4. Research report and detailed project plan of the doctoral dissertation (DSc);
  5. List of published works and their copies.

Documents Required for Basic Doctoral Admission:

  1. Biographical information;
  2. List of published works (at least 1 article and 2 theses) and their copies;
  3. Copy of the Presidential State Scholarship certificate (if applicable);
  4. Certificate confirming foreign language proficiency.

Requirements for Independent Researchers:

  • At least two years of scientific or pedagogical work experience;
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or Candidate of Sciences degree (for DSc applicants);
  • At least one scientific article and two theses relevant to the dissertation topic.

Documents Required for Independent Research:

  1. Reference letter from the workplace;
  2. Certificate of employment;
  3. Electronic copies of scientific works.
