Protecting Life on Land: “Green Space” initiative at TSUOS

On April 5, 2024, TSUOS organized a tree-planting event as part of the nationwide “Green Space” initiative. The event was spearheaded by the Department of Korean History, Culture, Politics, and Economy at the Faculty of Korean Studies.

As part of the initiative, ornamental saplings were planted on the university campus, contributing to a greener and more sustainable environment. Faculty members and students actively participated in the event, highlighting their commitment to ecological preservation and environmental awareness.

Tree planting plays a crucial role in combating climate change, improving air quality, and enhancing biodiversity. Such initiatives help create a healthier urban ecosystem while fostering a sense of responsibility toward nature among young generations.

For reference, April 5 is celebrated annually in South Korea as “Tree Planting Day,” emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation and reforestation. Inspired by this tradition, the event at TSUOS served as a reminder of the collective duty to protect and restore natural landscapes.
