TSUOS Leadership Visited SOAS University
Gulchehra Rixsiyeva, Rector of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS), and Associate Professor Saodat Saidakbarova, Head of the Department of Western Languages, visited SOAS University in London.
SOAS is ranked 508th in the QS World University Rankings, and 43% of its student population consists of international students.
During the visit, the delegation met with Professor Adam Habib, Vice-Chancellor of SOAS University; Professor Graeme Earl, Head of the College of Humanities; and Ayman Shihadeh, Director of the School of Oriental and African Studies and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Oriental and African Studies.
During the discussions, the parties explored opportunities for cooperation in scientific research projects, the implementation of an Academic Teacher Joint Program, digital humanities, Islamic studies, and source studies. They also discussed strengthening collaboration in areas of mutual academic interest.
The two institutions reached an agreement to establish inter-university cooperation, conduct joint research projects, and initiate academic exchange programs.
This meeting marked an important step toward advancing Uzbekistan’s higher education system in line with international standards and expanding the scope of international academic and research cooperation.
