Duties of the Center
- The following are the main tasks of the Center:
on conducting scientific research:
– Conducting scientific research aimed at studying the history and stages of development of the literature of Eastern peoples (Arab, Persian, Afghan [Dari, Pashto], Indian, Urdu, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Malay, Indonesian, Vietnamese).
– Studying the literary theories of the Eastern peoples, including the theoretical perspectives of literary scholars.
– Researching the folklore of the Eastern peoples, examining the theory of folklore studies, and conducting comparative-historical and comparative-typological studies of folklore genres among these cultures.
– Analyzing the literature of Eastern peoples during the classical period, including its development stages, literary heritage, and the works of prominent classical writers.
– Researching and translating literature from the Eastern peoples of the modern period (19th-20th centuries), including the stages of development and the works of notable writers from this time.
– Investigating the literature of contemporary (21st century) Eastern peoples, focusing on its characteristics, principles, and the contributions of modern writers.
– Conducting comparative studies in the field of comparative literary studies, examining the literature and writers of Eastern nations alongside those of Uzbek, Russian, English, and other literatures.
– Researching literary terms specific to the Eastern peoples and creating dictionaries related to the field of literary studies in Eastern languages.
– Organizing scientific conferences, seminars, and roundtable discussions on current issues related to the literature of Eastern peoples.
– Implementing internal projects aimed at studying the history and development of the literature of the Eastern peoples (Arabic, Persian, Afghan [Dari, Pashto], Indian, Urdu, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Malay, Indonesian, Vietnamese), and preparing projects to apply for state grants.
– Preparing, discussing, and recommending the publication of monographs based on scientific research.
on academic work:
– History of the literature of the peoples of the East (Arabic, Persian, Afghan (Dari, Pashto), Indian, Urdu, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Malay, Indonesian, Vietnamese) for bachelor’s and master’s degrees. creation of educational literature, including instructional manuals, textbooks, textbooks, and their discussion at the center and recommendation for publication;
– Based on the literary research and scientific analysis of works of art, developing recommendations on the introduction of the content of fiction into the curricula of courses related to language, literature, history and philosophy in the bachelor’s and master’s curricula of the university;
– Organizing the involvement of foreign literature in the creation of educational literature;
– Establishing the involvement of foreign specialists in the creation of educational literature;
on organizational matters:
– Improving the qualifications of teachers and scientific researchers by organizing scientific seminars, roundtable discussions and various scientific international and republican conferences dedicated to the literature of the peoples of the East;
– Monitoring and ensuring the timely completion of research works dedicated to the study of the literature of the peoples of the east and their study, carried out at the university within the framework of state scientific programs;
– 10.00.05 – “Language and literature of the peoples of Asia and Africa” (literary studies) and 10.00.06 – PhD students, basic doctoral students, independent researchers and independent researchers, 70230502 – discussion and approval of the subjects of master’s scientific dissertations in the field of literary studies (oriental languages), as well as the subjects of graduate work on the literature of the peoples of the East;

– Starting the work of translating the most famous works of Eastern writers into Uzbek;
– Involvement of leading orientalist scholars in literary studies working in our country and abroad to the work of the center.
– Active participation in the formation of a new generation of oriental specialists who can research and analyze the literature of the peoples of the East, theoretical works and literary works in the Eastern languages;
– Development of start-up, innovative projects together with talented students, masters, doctoral students, establishing close cooperation with scientific research institutions of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, conducting scientific seminars and project presentations.
