A meeting was held with the head of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (LSA) Miyazaki Suguru.
On March 3, 2021, the leadership of TSUOS met with the head of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (LSA) in Uzbekistan, Miyazaki Suguru.
During the meeting, TSUOS Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Elyor Makhmudov spoke about the achievements of the university in the field of Japanese studies, the current activities of the Faculty of Japanese Studies and plans for the future. He also noted the successful projects between TSUOS and JICA in the past and thanked Miyazaki Sugurui representatives of the organization for their assistance and close cooperation.
Miyazaki Suguru highly appreciated the multifaceted activities for the development of Japanese studies at TSUOS, thanked for the invitation to take part in the International Forum of Japanese Studies, which took place on February 25 at the university, and noted the high level of this event.
During the meeting, in order to further develop Japanese studies at TSUOS, the parties agreed on the implementation of the JICA Chair project and discussed its content. The JICA Chair project consists of two components. The first component is the organization of special lectures by Japanese professors and teachers and the provision of these lectures with the necessary DVDs and handouts, and the second component is the conduct of joint research.
The outcome of the discussion was a decision to implement the first component of the project in 2021, and the second component in 2022.
In implementing this program, Miyazaki Suguru was the first to support a proposal to give a series of lectures on Japanese economics to university students.
