DESCRIPTION OF UNIVERSITY STUDIES AND FIELDS GRADUATES CAN WORK IN:

TEACHING PHILOLOGY AND LANGUAGES

(ORIENTAL LANGUAGES)

In this field of study the language of the East (phonetics, morphology, normative grammar, stylistics, translation practice), literature, history, geography, ethnography are studied.

Graduates teach Oriental and Western languages in pre-school, general, secondary special and vocational education, translate fictional and scientific literature, prepare bibliographic materials, write reviews, perform technical and other types of translation. They can work as managers and administrative staff in hotels and travel agencies; perform professional activities such as intensive teaching of studied Oriental and Western languages.

TEACHING PHILOLOGY AND LANGUAGES

(CLASSICAL LANGUAGES OF THE EAST)

In this field of education, classical Uzbek, Arabic and Persian languages, past literary and cultural heritage created in these languages are studied from the point of view of source and textual literature, history of oriental literature, historical linguistics, history of written literary languages, language of ancient written manuscripts; text translation and interpretation; the principles of language and literature methodology, teaching skills, speech culture is taught.

Graduates will be able to teach Oriental and Western languages in pre-school, general, secondary special education institutions, as well as subjects of their specialization, work as a junior researcher in social and humanitarian research organizations; can translate from Oriental and Western languages studied in public institutions and private non-governmental organizations, editors and proofreaders in manuscript collections, archives, information resource centers, publishing houses, mass media; accomplishing  activities in various business entities, non-governmental, non-profit and public organizations and other institutions; local self-government bodies, local centers of spirituality and enlightenment, as well as preschool educational institutions.

TEXT STUDIES AND LITERARY SOURCES

Theoretical and practical directions of textual and literary source studies; the main methods of determining the palaeographic features of manuscripts and the criteria for their evaluation, the oldest records, their types; book art; manuscript collections of the Republic of Uzbekistan and abroad, rare sources stored in them; the scale of medieval written sources in the Republic of Uzbekistan and abroad are studied in this direction.

Graduates can conduct research at the Academy of Sciences and branch research institutes as a junior researcher, researcher, senior researcher, leading specialist; can teach Oriental and Western languages along with their specialties in general secondary, secondary special, vocational education institutions, Manuscript Archeography, Auxiliary Development and Cataloging; work with ancient written manuscripts, their translation, preparation of bibliographic materials, writing reviews; technical and other types of translation, as well as professional activities such as intensive language learning.

TRANSLATION THEORY AND PRACTICE

(IN ORIENTAL LANGUAGES)

Theoretical and practical bases and vocabulary of the Oriental language, translation of fiction and scientific literature in this language, translations in the studied language and their development, simultaneous translation and intercultural dialogue, the process of dialogue and methods of translation are studied in this field of education,.

Graduates can teach Oriental and Western languages, along with the subjects studied specialized in preschool, general, secondary special educational institutions; as well as they can accomplish translation and editing works in the media, translation in government agencies, international organizations, government and non-government institutions related to tourism; working as a manager and administrator in hotels and travel agencies and intensive teaching of the studied languages.

HISTORY (BY EASTERN COUNTRIES AND DIRECTIONS)

This is a general history, the richness of the language and vocabulary of the studied  Eastern country; regional (country) history, historical sources and historiography, methods of historical research, history of religious relations, culture and spirituality, socio-political, economic, ethnic processes, historical, religious-philosophical and ideological worldview systems, material and spiritual culture issues are studied in this field of education.

Graduates will be able to teach Oriental and Western languages (along with their specialties) in preschool, general and secondary special educational institutions, as well as can work as a junior researcher and scientific-technical worker in social and humanitarian research institutions and organizations; archives, museums, manuscript funds, information and resource centers, publishing houses, mass media, various business entities and others, as well as scientific and technical staff, editor, bibliographer, translator.

HISTORY (CENTRAL ASIAN COUNTRIES)

Teaching Oriental and Western languages along with the subjects of his specialization in this field of education; scientific, historical and spiritual issues, academic, research and development institutions and organizations related to the history of Central Asia; public administration bodies; Research institutes, museums, public and private archives of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan; manuscript funds; non-governmental and non-profit organizations; production associations of any form; Complex issues related to the specialty are studied in the centers for the study of historical, cultural and spiritual heritage in this direction of education.

Graduates will be able to teach Oriental and Western languages (along with their specialties) in pre-school, general, secondary special, vocational education institutions, as well as can work as a junior researcher and scientific-technical worker in the system of higher education in social and humanitarian research institutions and organizations; archives, museums, manuscript funds, information and resource centers, publishing houses, mass media, various business entities and others, as well as a scientific and technical staff, editor, bibliographer, translator.

POLITICAL SCIENCE

In this field of education, students can study current events in world politics and diplomatic relations. They will also study the main factors of foreign policy and diplomatic activity as well as the international relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan and foreign countries. At the same time, complex questions related to the activities of States, international organizations, trade unions and associations will be studied.

Graduates can work in diplomatic missions and consular posts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in foreign countries, in diplomatic missions and consular posts of foreign countries in the Republic of Uzbekistan. As well as they will be able to work as a specialist in international departments of state committees, authorities and other government agencies and institutions. They may work as research assistants at research institutes; can teach special subjects in the system of general, secondary specialized and vocational education, and can teach studied Oriental and Western languages. They can also accomplish professional activities in archives, information resource centers, publishing houses, mass media, various business entities, non-governmental, non-profit and public organizations and other institutions, such as scientific and technical staff, bibliographer, and translator.

PHILOSOPHY (EASTERN PHILOSOPHY AND CULTURE)

In this field of education, the history of philosophy and culture of the peoples of the East, the main stages of the development of philosophical thought in the countries of the East, spiritual heritage and values will be studied. In addition, the general laws of nature, society, and the development of thought; the basics of national spirituality and the peculiarities of Eastern culture, its role in the development of world civilization, as well as reading and interpretation of philosophical and literary literature in the studied Oriental and English languages; teaching skills, complex issues related to speech culture will be studied.

  Graduates can teach studied Oriental and Western languages in preschool, general, secondary and special education institutions and work in research institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, archives and museums.

They can work at state and local authorities, spirituality and enlightenment centers and departments for the promotion of national ideas, tourism, development of cultural ties, organizational management, as a scientific and technical staff in the field of translation, editor, bibliographer, translator, and can perform professional activities at governmental and non-governmental systems related to international level.

Foreign Economics and Country Studies

(By countries and regions)

Current education will teach the state of education of the socio-economic development of the Eastern region, the current problems and prospects, the external economic relations of the region, the directions of integration into the economic system world, history, culture, language, socio-political system of the region and special secondary education; complex issues related to the educational process in the vocational education system.

Graduates can work as referents in economic departments and divisions of ministries, state committees, and authorities and other government agencies, institutions, international economic organizations, representations of the Republic of Uzbekistan in international economic organizations and representations of international economic organizations in the Republic of Uzbekistan. They can either work as junior researchers in economics and business research institutions; teaching special subjects in the system of general secondary special, vocational education; can carry out professional activities such as working as a translator and expert-consultant in enterprises of different forms of ownership.

JOURNALISM; INTERNATIONAL JOURNALISM

(WITH ORIENTAL LANGUAGES)

In this field of education, complex issues such as mass media, public administration, governmental and non-governmental information services, PR (public relations) and advertising agencies, the Internet, methods of rapid information exchange and providing reliable information to the public are studied.

Graduates will be able to prepare press releases and journalistic materials and work on radio and television, news, analytical and artistic journalistic genres; news disseminated through news agencies; may deal with advertising agency products. They also work on indoor and outdoor advertising, Internet journalism materials, websites, social networks and hypertext. In addition, they work on information materials, press releases of public administration bodies, ministries, enterprises and departments, press centers and  also  can do professional activities such as public relations (PR) services, information materials, publishing concern and production of printed materials for printing houses.

GUIDE ACCOMPANIMENT AND TRANSLATION ACTIVITIES (ORIENTAL LANGUAGES)

In this field of education, students may study the following: the guide works in the field of guided accompaniment, interpretation and simultaneous translation, translation studies, linguistic research, guiding perspectives, professional skills, business translation skills and methods, ccomplex issues related to the development of methods, translation services to acquaint tourists and excursionists with the tourist resources of the country (place) of temporary stay, the organization of the translation system in international organizations, various governmental and non-governmental institutions.

Graduates will be able to analyze the types of translation, two-way interpretation as verbal and writing interpretation, simultaneous translation, intercultural communication, and guide accompaniment and translation studies; the use of modern pedagogical and information and communication technologies in the field of translation. They will also learn about the history of our country, ethnography, economy, tourism planning and excursions as well as, performing professional activities such as providing security, emergency response, first aid, teaching guide accompaniment in specialized vocational education institutions.

TOURISM (WITH ORIENTAL LANGUAGES RELATED TO THE FIELD OF ACTIVITY)

In this field of education, intangible assets belonging to tourism entities  in the field of tourism products, technological processes for the provision of tourism services, the results of intellectual activity, property or other legal grounds will be studied. In addition, issues such as the development and sale of residential buildings, restaurants, sightseeing sites, vehicles, other tourism enterprises and tourism products will be studied in a  complex way.

Graduates will be able to organize and conduct presentations of new tourism products, business negotiations, advertising campaigns, planning and development of tourist programs, calculation of tour prices, hotel reservations and ticket sales. They can also make excursion programs and other additional services, provide information about guides, issue travel documents, engage in visa services, and conduct marketing events as well as to cooperate with travel agencies and other organizations, directly sell travel packages, make an agency and other agreements, perform administrative functions, and develop travel-planning programs. It is possible to determine the needs of human resources and material resources of tour operators, to carry out such professional activities as the creation of a database of tourist products and information agencies.
