International scientific and practical conference “Uzbekistan-Korea: on the state and prospects of cooperation”

On January 28, 2021, President of our country Shavkat Mirziyoev and President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in held a video conference. In accordance with this meeting, on April 1 this year, an international scientific and practical conference “Uzbekistan-Korea: current state and prospects for cooperation” was organized at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.

The conference was opened with a welcoming speech by the rector of the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies Rikhsieva Gulchehra Shavkatovna, Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education Begimkulov Urozboy Shoimkulovich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan Kang Jae Kwon and Vice-Rector of the Global Campus of Kyongdong University, Professor Lee Yong Suk.

After the completion of the introductory part, the reports of the conference participants were heard. These reports, prepared on a variety of topics, provided information on the cooperation between the two countries in various fields and sectors of the national economy, culture, economy, politics and history, some reports were devoted to the ways and directions for further development of cooperation between the two countries in various fields . In particular, an interesting discussion among the participants of the conference was caused by the report “Plans for the development of cooperation in the field of education in Uzbekistan” prepared by the professor of Ajou University in Tashkent Pak Sang U.

Along with this, within the framework of the reports of the Vice-Rector of the Global Campus of the Kyeongdong University for International Education Juraev Sirodjiddin, Professor of the Tashkent branch of the Russian University of Economics. G.V. Plekhanov Islamov Bakhtiyor Anvarovich, doctoral student of the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies Nikolaeva Kamilla Sergeevna and other participants discussed and analyzed the problems and issues of the Aral Sea, the formation of an e-government system, the role of academic cooperation in the development and prospects of Uzbek-South Korean relations.
