PRESENTATION OF THE TURKISH TRANSLATION OF ABDULLA ARIPOV’S POEMS
On March 11, 2026, a presentation of the Turkish translation of the poetry collection “BEN NİÇİN SEVERİM ÖZBEKİSTAN’I” and a roundtable discussion dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of the Hero of Uzbekistan and People’s Poet Abdulla Aripov was held at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
The event was opened by the Rector of the university, Professor Gulchekhra Rikhsiyeva. During the roundtable, the First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual-Educational Work Kudratulla Omonov, poet Khanifa Mustafayeva, as well as Shoira Aripova and Rukhsora Aripova delivered speeches. They shared their views on the poet’s life, his rich creative heritage, and the contemporary study of his works.
During the event, students recited selected poems by the poet and presented a comparative reading of the original texts and their translations.
The compiler and translator of the book Khayrulla Khamidov and Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor Rustam Sharipov also participated with their presentations.
At the end of the roundtable, a Q&A session was held, during which participants exchanged views on the life and creative work of Abdulla Aripov, the essence of his poetry, and issues related to translating his works into foreign languages. The event emphasized the poet’s rich literary legacy and his significant contribution to the development of national literature.
