Visit of a group of writers and poets from Afghanistan to TSIOS
On October 24, a group of writers and poets led by Mujir Wahab from the Balkh province of Afghanistan, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan, visited the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies. The event was opened with an introductory speech by the Vice-Rector for Educational Work of the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, Ph.D. A.A.Wahidov and he warmly welcomed their visit. The welcoming speech was continued by the Chairman of the Uzbek-Afghan Friendship Society, Doctor of Philosophy, prof. A.A. Mannonov. In his speech, the Chairman of the Society noted that the friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan are of mutual interest. It was especially noted that this visit coincided with the 30th anniversary of its acquisition of the state status of the Uzbek language. He introduced teachers teaching Dari, Pashto and Persian languages at the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies.
Representatives of literature from the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan shared their views on the current state of Afghan literature, creativity and emphasized the community of Dari and the Uzbek language. The guests acquainted with their work in Dari and Uzbek. Students of the Department of Iranian-Afghan Philology also presented poems that they had learned in Dari and Pashto. At the end of the event, guests and students conducted a question and answer session in the Dari and Pashto languages.
