Debate on Gender Equality

On November 15, 2024, an open debate session was organized by Jalolova I. J., a lecturer at the Department of Western Languages of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, on the topic of Gender Equality, which is one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 5). The debate involved first-year students of the Dari and Indonesian language programs.

This interactive session aimed to expand students’ understanding of gender equality, raise awareness of global and regional challenges in this area, develop critical thinking, and enhance their ability to express and justify their views through dialogue. During the debate, participants discussed issues such as gender stereotypes, the role of women in education, the labor market, and political life, presenting and defending their viewpoints.

This initiative contributes to shaping TSUOS students as active, socially aware individuals who are not indifferent to pressing societal issues. At the same time, such efforts represent important steps toward deepening campus-based education and enriching its content in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.
