Global Problems Discussed by Students

An open lesson on SDG-7 “Affordable and Clean Energy” was conducted by Gulshan Kuryozova, English language instructor at the Department of Western Languages of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, with third-year students of the Faculty of Philology, Chinese Philology program. During the lesson, students deepened their knowledge and understanding of critical issues such as global energy resources, sustainability, environmental safety, and energy efficiency. Additionally, interactive teaching methods helped strengthen the students’ practical English language skills.

On the same day, another active instructor of the Western Languages Department, Khurshida Toshova, also conducted an open lesson on SDG-6 “Clean Water and Sanitation” with third-year students of the Faculty of Arabic Philology and Source Studies. During this session, students learned about drinking water safety, hygiene and sanitation issues, their global significance, and Uzbekistan’s experience in this field. The lesson was conducted using modern pedagogical approaches, enabling students to express their opinions and engage in practical tasks in English.

These open lessons not only contributed to the development of students’ professional and social competencies in English but also played an important role in nurturing active and responsible citizens who are not indifferent to solving global problems.
