Members of Young Diplomats club at St. Petersburg Higher School of Economics
On July 2-15, the student members of the Young Diplomats Club travelled to St. Petersburg branch of the HSE to participate in the courses of the International Summer School. Our guys took courses in political science from the teachers of St. Petersburg HSE, and also got acquainted with St. Petersburg and explored its sights during the cultural program. The courses were attended by students from many countries of the world, such as Venezuela, China, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Italy, Germany, Uzbekistan and Russia. The trip and training became for our children the first hardening of not only knowledge, but also the first international experience of communicating with their peers. The training in the thematic block: “Political Science and International Relations” was conducted in both English and Russian. Andrey Starodubtsev’s course “Public Administration in the post-Soviet space” was included in the political science block. Students from China and Japan attended the lectures along with our students. The course was devoted to the political processes in the post-Soviet space, the society of these countries and the state structure. Along with the training, the course organizers conducted several trips and excursions around the city for our students. At the end of the course, each student wrote a test paper in the form of an editorial column, choosing a topic related to the CIS countries at will.
