Supporting women and girls in higher education

On November 4, 2024, following the order of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, a working group from the Republican Women’s Council visited Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS) to study the activities of the Women’s Council at the university.

The working group members examined the opportunities created for female students to pursue education and spend their free time productively. They assessed the systematic work carried out by the university’s Women’s Council in addressing student issues, as well as the living conditions provided for female students residing in dormitories. Special attention was given to initiatives such as the “Orientalist Leader Girls” and “Girls” clubs, the Mother and Child room, the Oriental National Cuisine cafeteria, and various student clubs, all designed to empower and support female students.

These efforts contribute directly to SDG 5 by promoting gender equality, ensuring safe and supportive environments for women and girls, and fostering leadership and personal development among female students.
