Sustainable food purchases

The student restaurant at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS) actively supports sustainable and responsible food procurement by collaborating with local producers and suppliers. This approach not only promotes the consumption of fresh and locally sourced products but also contributes to the development of the regional economy and the reduction of environmental impact associated with long-distance food transportation.

The restaurant has established partnerships with several local producers, including “UzRice Guliston Agro Group Cluster LLC”, Agro-Food Partner, and Spice Expert (spiceexpert.uz). In addition, other food products are regularly purchased from local supermarkets such as Korzinka, Havas, and Baraka, as well as from traditional bazaars like Alay and Chorsu.

By prioritizing these local and sustainable sources, TSUOS ensures that its campus dining services align with the principles of sustainable consumption, support for local businesses, and community well-being, thereby contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
