An energy efficiency plan
Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies has actively incorporated energy efficiency measures to reduce overall energy consumption, supporting its broader commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Recognizing the importance of sustainable practices, TSUOS has begun implementing initiatives aimed at both energy conservation and sustainable infrastructure.
In line with Decree №222 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On additional measures to improve the efficiency of energy resource use” Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies has undertaken several projects aimed at energy saving and improving energy efficiency. To comply with the resolution’s requirements, one of our main objectives has become installing sensor-activated lighting systems in each room and classroom throughout the university. To fulfill the requirements of this decree, plans for the upcoming year include conserving 2,000 cubic meters of natural gas and 4,000 kWh of electricity (in the picture, available in Uzbek).
These sensor-equipped lights automatically turn on when someone enters the room and turn off once the room is empty. This technology not only optimizes energy use by reducing unnecessary electricity consumption but also supports the university’s commitment to sustainable and responsible energy management. Through initiatives like these, TSUOS aims to lead by example, setting a standard for energy efficiency and environmental stewardship across the nation’s educational institutions.
