Providing social protection and financial support
At Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, university staff are supported in every way, materially and morally.
In particular, in 2023, as part of the provision of social protection and financial support, according to the decision and recommendation of the university trade union board, the amount of 339 090 000 UZS was allocated from extra-budgetary funds for 102 professors and teachers’ wedding ceremonies and funerals, and for the recovery of their health and the purchase of medicines.
In addition, financial assistance in the amount of 62 778 320 UZS was spent on 18 students due to difficult family conditions, the death of their parents, low income, disability and to pay tuition fees.
Trade Union Committee provided financial support to those, in need of social protection, underprivileged and whose family is large, to ensure the implementation of its obligations regarding social benefits and guarantees. In 2023, according to the decision of the Presidium of the Trade Union Committee of the university, financial assistance in the amount of 62 100 000 UZS was allocated to 135 teachers and staff.
The following payments were made in accordance with the articles specified in Clause 9 of the “Collective Agreement” entitled “Social insurance: Social benefits and guarantees”:
- from 60 to 100 percent of the salary for employees registered for socially significant diseases;
- up to 50, 75 and 100 percent of the salary depending on the seniority of the employee at the university for temporary incapacity for work due to pregnancy and maternity leave;
- from 60 to 80 percent of the salary in other cases, depending on the total length of seniority of the employee.
