Implementation of Projects at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies
In accordance with Annex 7 of the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-307 dated July 6, 2022
Within the framework of project #290 “Development of a mobile learning application on history for visually impaired students studying at higher education institutions,” the university has developed the UzHistory mobile application, which meets international accessibility standards for students with visual impairments.
Under project #291 “Development of the Chinese.friendly.uz mobile application,” a platform was created to assist Chinese tourists in traveling freely across Uzbekistan and meeting their needs. The application provides essential information in Chinese and English languages.
Additionally, as part of the project “Development of the AudioManuscript platform,” a new mobile application AudioManuscript.uz was created to display and voice ancient manuscripts in their original form, language, transcription, and translation.
A total of 38 million UZS from the university’s extrabudgetary funds was allocated for these purposes.
In 2021, the university won a grant competition announced by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey for the translation of Fuad Köprülü’s work “The First Sufi Poets in Turkish Literature” into Uzbek, valued at USD 18,000. The translation has been fully completed, and the publication process is currently underway. The book is scheduled to be published in 1,000 copies by the end of July 2024.
Since May 2024, the university has been implementing a one-year applied project titled “Development of an electronic textbook on Gender Relations in Eastern Countries (The 100 Most Prominent Women of the East)”, with a total funding of 404.9 million UZS.
According to the project budget:
- 258.296 million UZS – remuneration,
- 67 million UZS – external research and website development,
- 15 million UZS – publication and stationery expenses.
In addition, 170 million UZS has been allocated for 2024.
Under the applied research project IL-5221091507 “Factors and Prospects of Sustainable Development of Interconnectivity between Central and South Asia (Based on Uzbekistan’s Initiatives),” a total of 465.207 million UZS (95% of the total budget) was allocated, including:
- 284.9 million UZS – remuneration,
- 34.2 million UZS – business trips,
- 34.1 million UZS – strengthening material and technical resources (computer equipment and stationery),
- 83 million UZS – publications.
Publications included 12 research papers presented at international Scopus-indexed conferences (32 million UZS), printing conference proceedings (11 million UZS), and 11 monographs (41 million UZS).
Since May 2024, the university has also been implementing a one-year applied project ALM-202403110247 “Utilizing Local Attributes to Enhance the Ethnotourism Potential of Rishton, Chust, Yangiqo‘rg‘on, and Boysun Districts”, with a total allocation of 704.147 million UZS.
According to the project budget:
- 364.483 million UZS – remuneration,
- 120.480 million UZS – travel expenses,
- 15 million UZS – external research,
- 126.7 million UZS – strengthening material and technical resources.
Additionally, 230 million UZS was allocated for 2024.
