About the Grant Office
The Grant Office of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies is a new structural unit established to develop the University’s scientific, innovative and international project activities, ensure effective use of grant opportunities, and facilitate the active involvement of faculty members, researchers, doctoral students and talented students in project activities.
The main objective of the Grant Office is to enhance the University’s scientific capacity, increase the share of international and local grants, align the quality of scientific research with international standards, support the scientific activity of faculty members and young researchers, and contribute to improving the University’s position in international rankings. Supporting the commercialization of international educational, scientific and innovative projects is also an important area of the Office’s activities.
KEY TASKS OF THE OFFICE
- The Grant Office contributes to the development of a unified strategy and policy for grants and research projects at the University, as well as to the establishment of a coordination system and the planning and development of the University’s grant portfolio.
- The Office regularly monitors international and local grant programmes, research competitions and scholarship opportunities, and provides the University community with relevant information on available opportunities.
- It provides faculty members, researchers, doctoral students and talented students with consultations and practical support in developing, improving and aligning project ideas with grant requirements, as well as in preparing and submitting project documents.
- The Office organizes the internal approval process for grant applications prior to submission and verifies the completeness of documents and their compliance with the established requirements of grant-making organizations.
- The Office coordinates contracts and obligations related to awarded grants, monitors project implementation, follows up on deadlines and expected results, and provides practical assistance to project leaders and responsible University units in preparing reports.
The Office contributes to enhancing the University community’s capacity in project development and grant writing by organizing seminars, trainings, round-table discussions, “grant clinic” consultation sessions and experience-sharing activities related to grant activities.
The Grant Office also contributes to the development of cooperation in the field of grants and projects with foreign higher education institutions, embassies, cultural centres, international organizations and foundations, promotes joint initiatives and supports the development of new project opportunities.
The Grant Office provides faculty members, researchers, doctoral students and talented students of the University with scientific, methodological and practical consultations in developing grant projects and preparing and formalizing grant applications.
Prepared grant projects are reviewed in terms of their scientific content, relevance, novelty, methodology, expected outcomes and compliance with the requirements of grant-making organizations. Based on the review, expert opinions and recommendations are provided to further improve the projects.
The Office also participates in organizing scientific and methodological events related to grant activities, and supports the involvement of talented students, young scholars and researchers in grant projects and their participation in project activities.
The Grant Office operates as a structural unit that systematically coordinates the University’s grant and project activities and supports scientific initiatives. Its establishment contributes to organizing the processes of identifying grant opportunities, developing project ideas, preparing grant applications and monitoring awarded projects within a unified system.
The activities of the Office are aimed at expanding the University’s participation in international and local grant programmes, developing international scientific cooperation, strengthening the project capacity of faculty members and young researchers, and supporting the practical implementation of scientific outcomes.
