Tourism Promotion Starting from Schools: Orientalists Visit Schools in Rishton

On September 20, 2025, a working group from the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies organized a roundtable discussion and a quiz at School No. 20 in Rishton district. The event aimed to widely promote the tourism sector and to familiarize the younger generation with national values and the region’s tourism potential.

During the meeting, the Head of the “Tourism” Department, PhD in History, Associate Professor Ch. Khusanov, provided students with detailed information about Rishton’s rich historical and cultural heritage, its traditional crafts, tourist attractions, and the modern opportunities available in the field. He emphasized that Rishton is one of the most attractive tourist destinations not only in Uzbekistan but throughout Central Asia.

Additionally, a quiz on the topic “Tourism – the Profession of the Future” was held among students, and active participants were awarded memorable gifts. As part of the event, promotional efforts were made to encourage graduates to pursue studies in tourism-related fields.

Such initiatives help strengthen young people’s love for their homeland and motivate them to contribute to promoting the country through tourism. Efforts to promote tourism starting from school play an important role in the future development of local tourism.

Orientalists an important cultural and educational event took place at the English-specialized Secondary School No. 1 in Rishton district. A working group from Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, led by the head of the Tourism Department, PhD, Associate Professor Ch. Khusanov, along with university professors, researchers, graduate students, and undergraduates, visited the school.

During the event, detailed information was provided to the youth about the tourism potential of Rishton district, especially its handicrafts, historical and cultural heritage. Lectures were delivered about Rishton pottery art, its centuries-old traditions, and places interesting for both local and international tourists.

The orientalists also presented fascinating information about their scientific research, as well as the role and potential of Rishton in world civilization, which attracted great interest.

The main goal of the event was to strengthen the younger generation’s pride in their homeland, spark interest in the field of tourism, and contribute to promoting Rishton on the international stage.

A short training course on the basics of guiding and client communication skills was launched at the school. Additionally, a quiz titled “Rishton — Center of Handicrafts and Tourism” was held among the students, and active participants were awarded souvenir gifts at the end of the event.

These activities serve to widely promote the tourism potential among youth and increase their interest in this field.
