Supporting students with disabilities
Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies pays special attention to students with disabilities who need social protection. All conditions and opportunities have been created for their movement on the campus.
The Trade Union Committee and the primary organization of the Youth Union operate at the university to support the disabled and provide them with various services. Special places are reserved for them in the student dormitories, as well as special conditions for using the university library, Braille books, and their use in the university.
Also, helping to solve the problems of university students is one of the main tasks of the primary organization of the Youth Union. Protecting the interests of students of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies is the main principle of the activity of the primary organization of the Youth Union. Excellent, talented students of the university, who have international certificates in Eastern and Western languages, give their kind help to support their fellow students with disabilities in language learning, translation, and mastering classes in every way.
Presidential Decree No. UP-5270 of December 1, 2017 “On measures to radically improve the system of state support for persons with disabilities” provides for the introduction of a procedure for allocating quotas based on a two percent state grant for admission to higher educational institutions of persons with disabilities who participated in entrance examinations, in addition to the total number of applicants to higher educational institutions.
In accordance with the implementation of these decisions, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies was accepted as a student in accordance with the procedure of allocation of additional two percent state grant quotas.
In accordance with the “Regulations on the procedure of admission to higher educational institutions of persons with disabilities on the basis of additional quotas of state grants”, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on June 2, 2018, № 417, persons with disabilities (groups I and II), who have scored at least 30 percent of the maximum possible number of points obtained in the entrance examinations, are recommended to study within the additional two percent quotas of state grants under strict.
In accordance with the implementation of these decisions, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies was accepted as a student in accordance with the procedure of allocation of additional two percent state grant quotas.
In order to fully support persons with disabilities at the university and to ensure the implementation of these decisions of the decisions, today 46 students with disabilities are studying at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, making full use of all the created conditions and opportunities.
