International seminar on the theme: “Uzbek-Indian relations: from ancient times to the present.”
September 28, 2018 at Tashkent Institute of Oriental Studies was held an international seminar on the theme: “Uzbek-Indian relations from ancient times to the present.”
The international event, with the participation of representatives of diplomatic missions, ministries and departments, event organizers, experts and specialists of research and educational organizations, was organized taking into account the importance of saturation of the schedule of events on the eve of the State visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to India.
The organizers of this event are:
- Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan;
- Coordination and Methodological Center for Recent History at the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan;
- Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies;
- University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
In the seminar, the rector of Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, Professor Mannonov Abdurakhim Mutalovich made an introductory speech and said: “We are happy to welcome you all at the International Seminar on Uzbek-Indian Relations, which have deep roots from ancient times to the present, do not lose their relevance in all spheres of bilateral relations. Since ancient times, Uzbekistan has known India as a country with a rich history and unique culture with which our people are connected by old cultural, trade and economic ties, and most importantly by ties of sincere friendship. ”
During the international event, Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Professor B.Abduhalimov, Counselor of the Embassy of India in Uzbekistan S.Ghosh, Director of the Cultural Center named after Lal Bahadur Shatri under the Embassy of India in Uzbekistan, Professor Ch.Shekhar, Leading researcher of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan B.Usmanov, Professor of UWED N.Tulaganova, professor of TSIOS U.Muhibova, professor of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan M.Rahimov, deputy director of the Institute of History of of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan Sh.Muhamedov, Deputy Head of the Department of Contemporary History and International Studies of the Institute of History of of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan R.Nazarov, associate professor of TSIOS T.Khodjaeva, head of the department for Cooperation with the Pacific Countries of the Committee on International and friendly relationships with foreign countries Abbasova Gulchera, head of the department for Cooperation with the CIS countries of the Committee on International and friendly relationships with foreign countries Bekov Feruz and the Hindi teacher of the school №24 Abdurahmonova Nigora participated with their speeches.
The seminar emphasized the importance of bilateral historical, economic and cultural relations between the two countries. It was noted that historical ties between Uzbekistan and India go back centuries and are connected with the southern branch of the Great Silk Road connecting our countries with the names of King Ashoka, Amir Temur, Babur and Baburids, Amir Khosrov Dehlevi, Mirza Bedil, Mirza Golib, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Raja Kapoor.
