As part of the expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan and higher educational institutions of China, a delegation led by the rector of TSUOS G. Rikhsieva visited Beijing and Xi’an
On the eve of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the People’s Republic of China on May 11-12, 2023, a delegation led by the rector of the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies G. Rikhsiyeva visited Xi’an to discuss the prospects for establishing and developing cooperation with leading higher educational institutions in China. Meetings were held with the leadership of prestigious universities for training personnel in the field of teaching methods, international journalism, tourism, economics, such as Xi’an Northwest University and Liaoning Normal University.
G. Rikhsiyeva noted that as a result of reforms carried out in the field of education in Uzbekistan, a new system of personnel training has been created in our republic. Large-scale work has also been launched aimed at improving the education system, improving the qualifications of the teaching staff, retraining personnel in current areas and social support.
During the talks, the Chinese partners noted that relations between the two countries are becoming more consistent today, especially the friendly relations established between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping are the main factor in the development of all spheres of interstate relations.
The leadership of Xi’an Northwest University and Liaoning Normal University noted that they are ready to cooperate with TSUOS in the implementation of research projects, the creation of modern scientific programs, textbooks and monographs, the organization of advanced training courses for Chinese language teachers, the implementation of exchange programs for students studying Chinese , simultaneous translation, tourism, economics.
An agreement between the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and Liaoning Pedagogical University was approved, starting from the new academic year, on the implementation of a joint educational program in the form of “2 + 2” in the direction of “Philology and Teaching Languages”, “Chinese International Education” and its curriculum was confirmed. At the end of the meeting, the leadership of Liaoning Pedagogical University agreed on the implementation of this joint educational program based on the allocation of educational grants to 10 students of the Pedagogical University.
As a result of the meetings, held in an open and friendly atmosphere, memorandums of understanding were signed between the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and Xi’an Northwest University, Liaoning Pedagogical University, defining the main directions and directions for future cooperation. Also, on the basis of these documents, it was agreed to develop “Roadmaps” containing activities to be implemented in the 2023-2024 academic year in areas of cooperation, and sign them as part of an international conference on sinology, which will be held in November 2023 at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
In addition, a presentation of 22 monographs on Sinology, published within the framework of the scientific project “Sinology in Uzbekistan”, carried out by Chinese professors and teachers of TSUOS, was held at Xi’an Northwest University and Liaoning Pedagogical University. In parallel, meetings were held with TSUOS students studying in these universities, the conditions for their education in China were studied.
