Visit to the Rishtan District: Advancing Tourism Potential
In order to implement the tasks set forth in the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 135 dated April 26, 2023, “On additional measures for the rapid development of the country’s tourism potential and further increase in the number of domestic and foreign tourists,” on May 19, teachers, researchers, master’s students, and undergraduate students led by the head of the “Tourism” Department of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, Mr. Khusanov, arrived in the Rishtan district.
The TSUOS working group visited the “M. Topvoldiyev” mahalla, which was granted the status of a tourism neighborhood by the Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The group became acquainted with the activities of the “International Pottery Center” located in the center of the neighborhood.
During the visit, participants studied the unique styles of the Rishtan pottery school, national ornaments and decoration types, and production technology, collecting scientifically grounded information.
