Conference on the topic “The modern transformation of international relations in the Oriental countries “
On May 21 this year, the Department of “Oriental Politics and International Relations” of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies organized a conference on “The Modern Transformation of International Relations in the Countries of the Orient”.
The conference was attended by the head of the Committee on International Affairs and Interparliamentary Relations of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, an officer from the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a representative of the Ministry of Higher and Specialized Middle Education, leading specialists and academics, students and representatives of the media, in total more than 60 people.
The event was opened with opening remarks by the Rector of the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies Gulchehra Rikhsieva, who stressed the importance of comprehensive study of the features of political development and formation models of the Eastern countries, namely the conceptual significance of this event held by the Department of Oriental Politics and International Relations for further development of mutually beneficial relations between Uzbekistan and the countries of the region.
It was noted that special “road maps” of the Parliament have been developed and events such as the international forum on “Global Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals” (Bukhara city) have been organized to consistently implement the initiatives of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed at the highest tribunes of international organizations.
In addition, the involvement of leading political scientists, researchers and oriental studies experts in the event was particularly emphasized, and the participants were informed of the work being carried out and of their future plans for securing Uzbekistan’s national interests in the framework of the current integration processes taking place in the countries of the East.
In particular, they discussed the role of public diplomacy in the system of international relations, the particularities of the use of “soft power technology” in contemporary political processes in the East, cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Nations on development issues, the Central Asian countries in the formation of a new world order and the role of the Afghan factor, improving the mechanism for regulating the application of one-way economic sanctions, the prospects for developing contemporary Uzbek-Pakistan cooperation relations and topical problems of cooperation in Turkic States.
It is noteworthy that, as a result of the issues discussed, the conference identified Uzbekistan’s role and involvement, and put forward appropriate proposals and recommendations for the development of mechanisms and technologies to protect the country’s national interests.
In general, the countries of the East are developing rapidly today, which in itself puts on the agenda the systematic study of the countries of the modern Oriental world and the identification of new promising points of cooperation.
