INFORMATION LETTER

In accordance with the implementation of Presidential Decree No. 4680 of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated April 17, 2020, “On Fundamental Improvement of the Training System in the Field of Oriental Studies and Measures to Enhance Scientific Potential,” as well as Presidential Decree No. 6097, dated October 29, 2020, “On the Approval of the Concept for the Development of Science Until 2030,” the Faculty of East Civilization and Philosophy is pleased to announce the organization of an international scientific-practical conference entitled:

“Historical Realities and Philosophical Ideals: Dialogues Between Disciplines”

The conference will be held on September 20, 2025, and aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and scholarly exchange on the intersections of historical and philosophical inquiry.

 Purpose and Objectives of the Conference:

The conference aims to explore the importance of interdisciplinary research in the study of sources related to the culture, history, and philosophy of Eastern civilizations. Particular emphasis will be placed on the theoretical and practical dimensions of ethnology, anthropology, and the contemporary political dynamics of Eastern societies.

The event will bring together leading scholars in Oriental studies, history, source studies, and philosophy from both domestic and international academic institutions. The conference also welcomes the participation of university professors, early-career researchers, doctoral candidates, and independent scholars engaged in studies on world history, the evolution of socio-political institutions and processes, and international relations.

The conference will be conducted across the following thematic sections:

  1. Theoretical and Practical Issues of Interdisciplinary Approaches in Historical Research. Focused on methodological innovations and challenges in applying interdisciplinary frameworks to the study of historical phenomena.
  2. Global History: The Interconnected Development of Eastern Regions. Exploring transregional influences, shared developments, and historical interactions among Eastern societies within the global context.
  3. Current Issues in Historical Source Studies and Historiography.
    Examining the latest trends, debates, and methodological concerns in the analysis and interpretation of historical sources.
  4. The Importance of Interdisciplinary Research in the Study of Tangible and Intangible Cultural Heritage. Addressing cross-disciplinary approaches to documenting, preserving, and analyzing cultural traditions, artifacts, and practices of Eastern civilizations.
  5. Key Directions in Eastern Philosophy and Culture. Discussing philosophical schools, cultural paradigms, and intellectual traditions that have shaped and continue to influence Eastern thought.

A scientific collection will be published based on the issues discussed at the conference. Texts of lectures (in electronic form) and applications for participation in it will be accepted until September 5, 2025.

 

Formatting requirements for submitted articles:

  1. Submission Guidelines for Conference Materials
  2. Format and Submission: All conference materials must be submitted both in one printed copy and electronically in two separate files:
    • One file containing the article named as: LASTNAME_Article.doc/docx
    • One file containing the application form named as: LASTNAME_Application.doc/docx
  3. Formatting Requirements:
    • Font: Times New Roman, size 14 pt
    • Line spacing: Single (1.0)
    • Margins: 5 cm (top and left), 2.0 cm (right and bottom)
  4. Article Layout:
    • The first line should feature the title of the article, in bold, uppercase letters, and centered.
    • The second line should include the author’s full name (surname, first name, patronymic).
    • The third line must contain the author’s institutional affiliation, academic degree, title, and position.
    • The main text begins from the fourth line.
  5. Text Body Format:
    • Line spacing: 0
    • Paragraph indentation: 1 cm
    • Alignment: Justified
    • Word wrapping: automatic
  6. References:
    • A complete list of references must be provided at the end of the article.
    • Priority should be given to citations from journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and other internationally recognized databases.
  7. Length:
    • Articles must be a minimum of six (6) pages.
  8. Languages Accepted:
    • Submissions are accepted in Uzbek, Russian, and English.
  9. Academic Quality:
    • Articles must be scientific in tone, grammatically and stylistically edited, and must clearly indicate the author’s affiliation.
  10. Conclusions and Recommendations:
    • Each article must include relevant conclusions and practical or theoretical recommendations related to the topic.
  11. Student Submissions:
  • Articles submitted by undergraduate and master’s students must be reviewed and endorsed by a professor or associate professor.
  1. Editorial Review and Selection:
  • Only articles that fully meet the above requirements and successfully pass editorial board review will be included in the scientific collection.
  • The Organizing Committee reserves the right to select articles for publication.

Scientific articles that are evaluated and recognized by the conference organizing committee for their substantial academic depth, use of original historical sources, and interdisciplinary research approach will be considered for publication in Scopus-indexed journals or conference proceedings, subject to an additional publication fee.
