TSUOS Delegation’s Academic Lectures at Lanzhou University: Bilateral International Cooperation
On May 8, 2025, representatives of the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies delivered lectures to master’s and doctoral students at Lanzhou University who are studying and conducting research on the history of ancient China and the peoples of Central Asia.
Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of TSUOS , Doctor of Political Science, Professor N. Abdullayev, gave a lecture titled “Training Oriental Specialists in Uzbekistan,” in which he provided an in-depth overview of the development and evolution of oriental studies in Uzbekistan, as well as the training of professionals in this field.
Head of the Higher School of Sinology, PhD, Associate Professor F. Khasanova, delivered a lecture to graduate students and doctoral researchers on the topic “Research by Uzbek Sinologists on the History of Dunhuang.” She emphasized that Dunhuang, located at the crossroads of the Great Silk Road and historically the gateway for Chinese trade caravans, was not only a hub for economic exchange but also a center of scientific, cultural, and educational significance.
Head of the Student Services Department at TSUOS, K. Imomnazarov, in his lecture titled “The Study of Dunhuang Monuments in Central Asian Scholars’ Research,” highlighted the development of historical, cultural, and trade relations between ancient Central Asian cities and the western regions of China.
The lectures by the TSUOS representatives at Lanzhou University were organized as part of the international academic research project between the two countries’ higher education institutions under the theme “Dunhuang Culture to the World.” Chinese researchers showed great interest in the presentations of the Uzbek scholars.
