TSUOS Representatives at the Andong International Forum
The Rector of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS), Professor Gulchekhra Rikhsiyeva, participated in the 12th International Forum titled “The Values of Humanities in the 21st Century”, held in Andong, Republic of Korea.
Within the framework of the forum, Professor G. Rikhsiyeva delivered a presentation on “Studying Cultural and Spiritual Heritage as a Key Direction in Honoring Human Values and Strengthening International Cooperation.”
In her speech, she emphasized that Uzbekistan is one of the cradles of ancient culture and science — a center of Renaissances — and highlighted the rich heritage of the nation’s great scholars and historic cities. She also discussed the significance of cultural diplomacy in today’s global context, elaborating on the main directions of the “New Uzbekistan” strategy and the large-scale reforms being implemented in the country.
She further touched upon the essence of the 43rd UNESCO Session taking place in Samarkand and presented a short video about it.
During the discussions, participants explored the crucial role of the humanities in human capital development and shared Uzbekistan’s higher education experience.
At the same forum, the Head of the TSUOS Higher School of Korean Studies, Yeon Sam Heon, also presented his lecture.

The Q&A session with participants, especially young people and students, was engaging and dynamic. The contributions of TSUOS representatives played a significant role in deepening international interest in Uzbekistan.
