International Symposium Dedicated to the 585th Anniversary of Alisher Navoi Held at TSUOS
On February 9, 2026, the 5th International Symposium on the topic “Alisher Navoi and the Eastern Renaissance” was held at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies in honor of the 585th anniversary of the birth of Mir Alisher Navoi.
This prestigious academic event was jointly organized by Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, the International Public Foundation named after Alisher Navoi, and the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan.
As part of the symposium, a flower-laying ceremony was first held at the monument of Alisher Navoi in the National Park, followed by the official opening ceremony. During the event, the winners of the “Followers of Navoi” competition were awarded, and guest speakers shared their views on the place and significance of the great thinker’s legacy in world civilization.
Within the framework of the symposium, sectional meetings were organized, where scholars, researchers, and specialists from Uzbekistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and other countries participated with academic presentations.
The international symposium contributed to an in-depth study of Alisher Navoi’s heritage, the development of scholarly research, and the strengthening of international academic cooperation.
