The II International Scientific Conference titled “Sustainable Economic Growth: Integration of Green Economy Principles and Practices” was held at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies
On April 11, 2026, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies hosted the II International Scientific Conference on “Sustainable Economic Growth: Integration of Green Economy Principles and Practices.” The conference was also attended by Ms. Neena Malhotra, Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, and H.E. Ms. Smita Pant, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Uzbekistan. The conference was organized in cooperation with Istanbul Commerce University and Bishkek State University.
The event brought together representatives of local and foreign higher education institutions, research centers, government organizations, and international institutions.
The conference was opened by the university administration. Experts from India, Pakistan, Turkey, and other countries, as well as representatives of Uzbekistan’s transport sector and international organizations, delivered speeches.
During the plenary session, presentations were delivered on the following key topics:
• the role of the green economy in sustainable development;
• global healthcare systems and sustainability issues;
• food security and regional aspects;
• Uzbekistan’s international cooperation;
• digitalization and integration of the green economy;
• green economy policies in China and other countries.
The presentations highlighted current challenges of sustainable economic development and possible solutions. Within the framework of the conference, 6 thematic sections were organized. In addition, the section titled “Sustainable Economic Growth and Green Economy Principles: Theory and Practice” is scheduled to be held on April 15, 2026, at Bishkek State University.
As a result of the conference, the following recommendations were proposed:
• the need to widely implement green economy principles in the national economy;
• expanding the use of renewable energy sources;
• strengthening cooperation with international financial institutions;
• developing transport and logistics integration in Central Asia;
• supporting scientific research and innovative projects.
The conference served as an important platform for strengthening academic cooperation, exchanging best practices, and promoting new initiatives in the field of green economy.
At the end of the event, agreements were reached to further develop cooperation, implement joint research projects, and regularly organize such conferences in the future.
