On March 17, 2025, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies was visited by Professor Masaki Ono, Director of the Center for Global Communication (CEGLOC) and a professor at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at Tsukuba University, Japan, along with Associate Professor Akifumi Shioya from the same faculty.
As part of the visit, Professor Masaki Ono delivered a lecture at the TSUOS Higher School of Japanese Studies on the topic: “Changes in the Mechanisms of Expressing Politeness in the Japanese Language.”
The lecture enriched the knowledge of faculty members at the Higher School of Japanese Studies about the unique aspects of Japanese culture and language, particularly how social changes influence politeness categories and their manifestation in language use.
