Delegation from Lanzhou University (PRC) Visits Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies
On November 2, a delegation from Lanzhou University of the People’s Republic of China paid an official visit to the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS).
During the meeting, the parties held discussions on expanding the existing memoranda of cooperation between the two universities, launching new joint scientific and educational projects, and further developing student and faculty exchange programs.
In particular, the discussions focused on:
- Expanding academic cooperation in the fields of history, tourism, international journalism, economics, and Chinese philology;
- Developing a joint “2+2” educational program in International Journalism, establishing preferential tuition policies for Uzbek students, and preparing a tripartite agreement involving Lanzhou University, TSUOS, and the International Chinese Language Education Center of the PRC;
- Implementing international research projects in history, economics, language, and literature, as well as producing joint monographs, textbooks, and other scholarly publications;
- Participation in the Annual International Chinese Studies Conference, held each November, through the preparation of academic papers and presentations;
- Enhancing Chinese language education and curriculum development, including teacher training, creation of Chinese language textbooks aligned with Uzbekistan’s national education standards, and joint publishing initiatives;
- Organizing language training courses for Chinese specialists in Uzbekistan, offering short- and long-term programs in Uzbek and Russian languages.
