Issues of Organizing the “Forum of Civilizations on Harmony and Cooperation – 2026” were discussed at TSUOS
On March 30, 2026, representatives of the International Confucian Association visited Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. During the meeting, the parties thoroughly discussed the organization of the international scientific event titled “Forum of Civilizations on Harmony and Cooperation – 2026,” which is scheduled to be held on June 12, 2026, in cooperation with TSUOS.
The forum is expected to serve as an important platform for developing scientific and cultural dialogue, strengthening intercivilizational cooperation, and elevating educational and scientific relations between Uzbekistan and China to a new level.
According to the Chinese side, the prestigious forum is expected to be attended by the Minister of Education of the People’s Republic of China, the head of the International Confucian Association, as well as other high-level members of the official delegation. This will further enhance the international significance and prestige of the event.
During the negotiations, TSUOS Rector Gulchekhra Rikhsiyeva put forward several important proposals and initiatives for organizing the forum at a high level. In particular, it was noted that, in order to ensure balance among the participating delegations, it would be advisable for Uzbekistan to involve the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, along with other senior officials.
It was also proposed to develop a detailed program for the event, publish a collection of articles based on the conference outcomes, and actively involve TSUOS students in the process. In her speech, the rector emphasized that the university’s Confucius Institute is highly appreciated by the Chinese side, which creates a strong foundation for implementing future joint projects.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to appoint responsible representatives and establish a joint working group to prepare and organize the forum.
