Traditional scientific-practical conference
rtment of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies held the traditional 8th scientific-practical conference on the topic “Historical processes in the Eastern countries and current problems of their study”.
The conference was organized as part of the plenary session and separate branch meetings within the framework of theoretical and practical issues of the history of the development of Eastern countries, coverage of the history of Eastern countries in foreign language sources, and the history of cooperation relations of Uzbekistan with Eastern countries.
Professors and researchers from a number of higher educational institutions and scientific research institutes of our Republic participated in the conference.
The leading orientalists-scientists of our country took part in the conference with lectures on the important role and great influence of the countries of the East in the world-historical development and the processes at the current stage.
In the work of the conference, which continued in separate chapters, the state traditions, culture, and customs of the Ancient Eastern peoples, the rapid development processes in the Middle Ages Muslim East, in particular, the issues of the Islamic Renaissance, the reasons for the colonization of most eastern countries in the XVIII-XIX centuries and its negative consequences, the issues of the fight against colonialism and the political processes taking place in the context of globalization, military conflicts analyzed in the case of countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Türkiye, Iran, Arab countries, Japan and China.
After the conference branches finished their work, the following theses were adopted at the gathering for the plenary session and at the end of the discussions:
- To improve the quality of research on the history of Eastern countries, to increase their number and scope, in particular, to develop research on the history of Eastern countries in the period of the Middle Ages and the colonial period;
- Taking into account the growing need for research in the context of world history, re-examining the history of eastern countries from the perspective of Uzbek scientists, and publishing books on the history of eastern nations.
