The tourism sector is not only a strategic industry for the country’s economy but also a promising career path for young people. For this reason, the Department of Tourism at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies organized a series of seminar-trainings in schools No. 31, and 47 located in Yangiyul district.

The main goal of these events was to promote the tourism potential of the Yangiyul district among students, provide them with an understanding of its development opportunities, and guide students towards higher education, particularly in the field of tourism.

The seminars were attended by members of the university’s working group led by the Head of the Department of Tourism, Mr. Ch. Khusanov. During the open dialogue held with senior students, detailed information was provided about the natural, historical, and cultural potential of the Yangiyul district, as well as the attractiveness of these locations from the perspective of domestic and international tourism. In addition, local development strategies, civic engagement, and the active role of youth in the tourism sector were specially emphasized.

Mr. Ch. Khusanov also announced that the department’s professors had organized a short training course for students on the topic “Fundamentals of Guiding and Customer Service Skills” and that a youth club named “Tourism & Travel Club” is currently active.

In the second part of the seminar-training, students were thoroughly introduced to the higher education opportunities available at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, including bachelor’s degree programs in tourism, joint education programs, modern facilities created for students, and practical training opportunities. The aim was to increase the interest of school graduates in higher education and to help guide them in choosing a profession.

As part of the event, current students of the university shared their personal achievements, experiences, and motivational stories with the school students. This meeting turned out to be interesting and meaningful for the students, and they received answers to the questions that interested them.

The seminar was conducted in an interactive format, with quiz questions and small competitions organized. Students who actively participated and gave correct and insightful answers were awarded commemorative gifts by the working group.

At the end of the event, the principal of School No. 31, Mr. Gholibjon Sottikulov, expressed his gratitude to the university delegation for their visit and invited the guests to tour the school museum.

This career guidance initiative is an important part of the systematic efforts being carried out by Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies to guide youth in their career choices, provide them with modern knowledge and skills in the field of tourism, and widely promote the tourism potential of the Yangiyul district.
